Creeper Fern Cave
Length: 13m | Grade: 5C | Surveyed: 1996-02-29

Extension: 15m, Height: 10m
Creeper Fern Cave is a wide slot, which runs into the mountain for 11m. The cave is divided into 2 slots by a solid rock wall. The wall runs the length of the cave, but the eastern most slot, only runs for half the length of the cave. In winter, a stream pours down this slot, and runs out towards the entrance. At the end of the western most slot, is a narrow side passage, which is too narrow to enter.
As this cave is very wet, even in summer, much of the rock in the cave is saturated, and further collapse can be expected in the not too distant geological future. Although the cave will not be extended by much, the base of the pillar will erode, which will lead to further collapse. If the cave stays as wet as it is at present, it will not belong before the saturated pillar will turn to sand, and be washed out of the entrance boulder choke.
