Access to Coin Cave is along a rocky ledge about 10 m above sea level. At one point, a large cliff blocks further progress along the ledge. The entrance to Coin Cave is just before the end of the ledge. The cave is relatively rectangular in cross section, and is about 30 m long. There is possibly another cave entrance just below Coin Cave in the same crack, but the cliff made it impossible to lean out far enough to see. There were pieces of fishing line and an old rusty knife on the ledge, indicating that some determined fisherman hiked a long way to practice his art.
