Robin Hood Cavern - Lost Air Scouts

Arrived on Boyes Drives at about 20h30. MCSA, Metro, Police arrived. MCSA & SASA planned rescue. Two SASA members were to investigate from the Ronan's Well entrance, but would not attempt the narrows. Two SASA would go to the Main Chamber and another two SASA members would investigate the Robin Hood side of the narrows. On the way in, I called down the passage to the narrows and heard a reply. The seven boys were cold and thirsty, but uninjured. They had been singing campfire songs to keep their spirits up. We assisted them out via Robin Hood and after coffee, we made our way down to arrive at Boyes Drive at 11h45. Story: Seven Air Scouts from the Transvaal were to hike in the Cedarberg, but were entertained before leaving on their hike. They were shown the way up the mountain, and entered Ronan's Well at 13h00. They were due to meet at Kalk Bay station at 14h00. When they did not arrive, two of the boys who were waiting outside the cave came down and raised the alarm. Someone who was supposed to meet the group, returned with the two boys, and when they had not emerged by around 17h00, he used his cell phone to call the scout master. SASA received the call out at about 19h00, and met on Boyes Drive at 20h30.

Updates: As far as I remember (November 2026) was that the group did not all have torches, and only 1 torch was working by the time we found them.

Note, SASA Cape became CPSS
