Storms River Mouth Shelter – 30m

The Storms River Mouth shelter was one of two caves excavated for display to the public. The cave is about 30 long and 11m wide. The cave was formed by wave action enlarging a fissure in coastal sandstone. Although the main chamber is relatively wide, the narrow, original fissure continues at the back of the cave for a few meters. This fissure was home to about ten Rhinolophus bats during our visit.
